WRI China Road to Paris workshop postcard

On behalf of the Agreement for Climate Transformation (ACT) 2015 consortium (please see attached introduction on ACT2015), World Resources Institute and Tsinghua University would like to invite you to a workshop on the design of the 2015 Paris Agreement on the afternoon of May 11th, 2015 at the Beijing Yuyang Hotel.

This discussion will explore the choices to be made regarding the design of the 2015 agreement and the implications of those options for China. Your insights are essential as we examine the best ways to build an agreement that will stand the test of time and help the world avert catastrophic climate impacts.

This facilitated discussion is part of a series of consultations with stakeholders in key countries. We will present the consortium’s research and hear from expert commentators from China. The discussion will focus on the following:

  • What the 2015 climate agreement could look like and what choices should be made?
  • What does China need from the Agreement and what are its responsibilities?
  • How do we maximize the time remaining in the lead up to Paris to achieve a durable, ambitious, and fair agreement?
