In recent years, the Chinese government implemented a range of climate change policies to address climate change, reduce GHG emissions and shift to low-carbon economy and sustainable development. These policies are necessary to tackle global climate change and adjust China's economic structure and transform patterns of production and consumption. At the end of the 12th Five-Year Plan period, assessment on China's climate change policy system and implementation of important policies will help people understand the next action to be taken by the Chinese government and inform climate and energy-related policy making of the 13th Five-Year Plan. The WRI-led Assessment Report of the Implementation of Climate Change Policies during the 12th Five-Year Plan Period in China provides comprehensive assessment of emission reduction measures and climate change action of China since 2011.
