WRI China Stories to Watch 2015 postcard

WRI China and the Institute for Contemporary China Studies at Tsinghua University will co-host Stories to Watch 2015 on March 3, 2015 at Tsinghua University in Beijing. Manish Bapna, Executive Vice President and Managing Director at the World Resources Institute (WRI), and Dr. HU Angang, Director of the Institute for Contemporary China Studies at Tsinghua University, will present their insights into the major events that will impact the environment, sustainability and development area for China and the world.

December 2015 is the target date for a worldwide agreement that will unite all countries in an ambitious response to climate change. Beside this climate target, leaders will gather at the United Nations headquarters in September to agree on goals to reduce world poverty while encouraging sustainable development, replacing the Millennium Development Goals that expire in 2015.

Against this background, WRI and experts from Tsinghua University will present their insights and discuss how China could turn the climate challenge into a sustainable development opportunity?
