As a pillar industry of China's national economy, the petrochemical industry is a major producer of energy. With increasingly profound implementation of energy saving and emission reduction targets, as one of the industries with high energy consumption, high emission and high pollution, the petrochemical industry will definitely usher in more severe challenges in the field of energy saving and emission reduction. Especially for the national carbon market which will soon be established, the primary issue for petrochemical enterprises is to grasp the situation of their greenhouse gas emissions, clarify main emission sources and develop practical approaches of emission reduction.
The entire petrochemical industry has a long industrial chain with numerous sub-industries. Starting from the industry source, it is divided into exploration, production and gas processing industry, petrochemical industry and chemical products manufacturing industry. Along such a complex industrial chain, there are thousands of kinds of petrochemical products, and raw materials for production of the same product are in a large variety, which leads to different production processes and equipments, and therefore the sources of greenhouse gas emissions are different as well, exhausting all of them will be a huge workload. In view of this, to facilitate analysis, this study proposes a hierarchical emissions source identification method based on enterprise production system. Petrochemical product production enterprises with crude oil and natural gas as raw materials for processing and large greenhouse gas emissions are selected, typical production processes of each product are sorted out, and the sources of greenhouse gas emissions are identified, thus providing key technical support for reporting and checking of greenhouse gas emissions in the petrochemical industry. The method is not only suitable for the petrochemical industry, but also offers certain reference for other types of industrial enterprises.
