Yu Ma is a Research Analyst of WRI Sustainable Investment Program. She currently focuses on research and engagement in renewable energy for BRI countries.

Prior to joining WRI, she worked at a Chinese government-endorsed industry association that aims to promote international communication and cooperation in renewable energy. She also worked with DG Energy (European Commission) as the China Country Expert in the study on energy costs and investments for data tracking. More recently, she has been working with Tsinghua University as a part-time researcher mostly on the topics of energy transition and green finance.

Yu Ma graduated from North China Electric Power University with a master’s degree in Asset Valuation when she was engaged in several government-funded and privately funded projects ranging from China’s power sector reform to carbon pricing.
